June 12, 2006

Southwick, MA - Kawasaki Racing Team rider, James Stewart, gave an epic performance aboard his Kawasaki KX450F when the 2006 AMA/Motocross Series came to the sands of Southwick Mass., this weekend. The 20-year-old fan favorite from Haines City, Fla., endured intense pain and discomfort in his left knee due to a deep bone bruise to win the first moto. Stewart continued his gritty performance in the second moto and remained close behind leader Ricky Carmichael before a crash on the penultimate lap forced him to accept an 11th place finish and fourth place overall for the weekend.

In Motocross Lites action, Team Monster/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki rider, Grant Langston, overcame a frustrating first moto to win the second moto and finished ninth overall for the weekend. Langstons teammate, Ryan Villopoto, also had a difficult first moto but remained resilient in the second moto to finish fifth and posted a 12th overall finish for the weekend. Team Green rider, Kyle Chisholm, posted his best Motocross Lites finish of the season going 7-9 to finish in seventh place overall for the weekend.

Kawasaki Racing Team and Team Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki head to Budds Creek MX Park in Budds Creek, Md., on June 18, for round four in the series.
