Kawasaki Collects Three Top-10 Finishes

The Kawasaki off-road team landed three top-10 finishes at EnduroCross.
October 16, 2007

Irvine, CA - Monster Energy Kawasakis Ricky Dietrich, Kawasaki rider Matt Karlsen and Team Green rider Jamie Lanza helped put three Kawasaki machines in the top-10 during round two of the AMA Maxxis National EnduroCross Series at Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Okla.

Dietrich easily qualified into the main event after earning second in his heat race. In the main, he had a good jump at the start on his Kawasaki KX250F but got stuck in a first turn pile up. After remounting, he made a charge from last place to finish in sixth place.

I got taken out in the first turn and was pretty bummed about that, said Dietrich. In this type of racing, anything can happen and I knew I just had to get back up and go for it. I was running the same pace as the leaders and ended up charging back, so it wasnt a total loss.

He added, I definitely felt better this round. I was a lot more confident on the bike, especially after this weekend. For Vegas, Ill be able to have a lot more time on the bike and if I dont end up on the ground, I think I have a shot at winning.

Matt Karlsen earned his way into the main event after winning the semi-final race. He got a good start and was able to hold on for an eighth-place finish.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Lanza turned heads when he finished second in his heat and advanced directly the main event. In the main, Lanza was able to avoid the first turn pile up and finish the night with a notable ninth-place.

I almost pulled the holeshot but was able to fall into second, said Lanza. I ended up crashing while trying to avoid a crash, which put me back. My last EnduroCross last year, I didnt make the main so I was really happy to make it to the night show and eventually the main event. I am excited for the next round in Vegas.

Monster Energy Kawasakis Nathan Woods qualified fast during the timed day qualifiers but after suffering a hard crash in the semifinals, he was unable to qualify for the main event.

The third and final round of the AMA/Maxxis National EnduroCross Series will take place in Las Vegas on November 17.
