I now have 1500 miles on the Road Star and the bike is much better than I thought. I made a 500 mile trip on the bike and I can say without a doubt it rides much smoother than my 1500 Vulcan. The standard seat is OK but I prefer the feel of Mustang seats so that is probably my next purchase. As far as performance what is really noticeable is the top gear acceleration from 60 mph on up - it is just effortless and great for passing. However, the smooth ride and comfort is the reason you should buy his bike. The only negative is a little vibration through the floor boards since the engine is not counter-balanced but it is a minor complaint to an otherwise great bike.
